Isaac Schwartz is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and educator living in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He performs in a variety of different bands and settings in the area including UNI’s Jazz Band One, several jazz combos, a brass-funk band, and several collaborative projects with solo artists in the Cedar Valley. Isaac teaches private percussion/drum set, guitar, and electric bass lessons for West Music in Cedar Falls.


Though he primarily plays drum set, Isaac has led his own trio playing bass, and has frequently played in jazz duos on percussion. In addition to being an active performer, Isaac is always trying to compose new music for the various groups he is a part of. He has composed and premiered several original contemporary works, as well as original jazz tunes. In 2018, Isaac was named the first recipient of the Bismarck Mandan Symphony Orchestra Conductor's Choice Award.


Currently, Isaac serves as a student delegate for the Percussive Arts Society. In the Spring of 2018, he finished his bachelor's degree in Percussion Performance at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. Isaac is currently pursuing his master's degree in Jazz Pedagogy at the University of Northern Iowa.
